Top location, easy to find!

Dear guests, we are happy to welcome you to Marrakech!

Plan your vacation in Marrakech with our travel guide
or reserve your room at Riad Selouane.

The Riad

Our Riad Selouane is a charming guesthouse with 6 rooms in the heart of the world-famous medina of Marrakech.

The excellent location near the old royal palace Dar el Bacha offers plenty of restful tranquillity, yet it is only a few meters away from the hustle and bustle of the souks.

For over a thousand years, the souks have represented the heartbeat of the city. The dyers, the shoemakers, the iron smiths and the many other traders with thousands of oriental goods are only a few steps away from our riad.

And while the medina pulsates with its thousand-year-old rhythm, the Riad Selouane welcomes its guests like a dream from a thousand and one nights. The inner courtyard with its many plants and the pool is an oasis of calm, not only on hot days.

The sweeping view from the rooftop terrace over the medina to Ben Youssef Mosque is rounded off on a clear day by the snow-covered panorama of the Great Atlas Mountains.

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace

A typical day at Riad Selouane begins in the morning with a relaxing breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Between orange trees and olives you will find dreamy seats for romantics or cool shade under our berber tent.

While you enjoy a typical Moroccan breakfast, next door the city awakens every morning with an inspiring bustle. Equipped with recommendations from our team, you can immediately start exploring the medina.

Our manager Nouri knows his way around Marrakech and will be happy to help you plan activities or make restaurant reservations.

Of course, we offer alternatives for breakfast and dinner in case of food allergies.
If you would like a gluten-free breakfast, we kindly ask that you inform us in advance.

Oriental delights

In the evening, we offer a traditional Moroccan meal in our romantic berber tent on the rooftop terrace upon reservation — always a real firework of the most diverse spices and ingredients for the palate.

In the morning, our team will be happy to make seasonal suggestions for the composition of the menu. Afterwards, the ingredients are bought fresh from the vendors in the medina and prepared by our chef Hafida with much love reflecting ancient tradition.

According to our guests, Hafida’s cuisine is a real insider tip!

Forget time — pure relaxation

During the day, you can relax on the rooftop terrace with a Moroccan mint tea or coffee and take in the impressions of the city. If it’s too warm, why not take a dip in our pool in the courtyard — the perfect way to cool off!

Each of our 6 rooms is furnished differently and has its own bathroom. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and throughout the riad.

Your safety at Riad Selouane is ensured in the evening by our night manager as well as the neighbourhood guard.

Explorations

Within just two to five minutes’ walk, you will find a wide range of sights such as museums, historic gardens and palaces, as well as a large number of restaurants and bars.

The choice of wellness options ranges from historic hammams to modern spa facilities. A visit to the hammam is always a grand finale after a day in the souks, followed by dinner in one of the many restaurants in the medina.

If you are tempted by the hip clubs of the new town, the taxi stand at Dar el Bacha is just nearby.
