Dear guests, we look forward to welcoming you to Marrakesh!

Plan your vacation in Marrakesh with our travel guide
or reserve your room at Riad Selouane.

The Riad

Our Riad Selouane is a lovingly run guest house with 6 rooms in the heart of the world-famous medina of Marrakesh.

The excellent location near the old royal palace Dar el Bacha offers plenty of relaxing tranquillity and yet it is only a few meters to the hustle and bustle of the souks — the ideal location for a vacation in Marrakesh.

The souks have been the heartbeat of the city for over a thousand years. The dyers, the shoemakers, the iron smiths and the many other traders with thousands of oriental goods are just a few steps away from our Riad.

And while the medina pulsates to its thousand-year-old rhythm, the Riad Selouane welcomes its guests like a dream from a thousand and one nights. The inner courtyard with its many plants and pool is an oasis of calm, and not just on hot days.

The sweeping view from the roof terrace over the medina to the Ben Youssef Mosque is rounded off on clear days by the snow-covered panorama of the Great Atlas.

Breakfast at Riad Selouane

The day at Riad Selouane begins in the morning with a relaxed breakfast on the roof terrace. Between orange trees and olive trees you will find dreamy seats for romantics or cool shade under our Berber tent.

While you enjoy a typical Moroccan breakfast, the city next door wakes up every morning with an inspiring bustle. Equipped with recommendations from our team, you can start exploring the medina straight away.

Our manager Nouri knows his way around Marrakesh and will be happy to help you plan activities or make restaurant reservations.

Of course we offer you alternatives for breakfast and dinner in case of food allergies.
If you require gluten-free food, please inform us in advance.

Oriental culinary delights

In the evening, we offer you a traditional Moroccan meal in our romantic Berber tent on the roof terrace (advance booking required) — always a real feast for the palate with a wide variety of spices and ingredients.

Our team will be happy to make seasonal suggestions for the menu in the morning, after which the ingredients are bought fresh from the traders in the medina and prepared with love by our chef Hafida following old family recipes.

According to feedback from our guests, Hafida’s kitchen is a real insider tip!

Forget time — pure relaxation

During the day, you can relax on the roof terrace with a moroccan tea or coffee and take in the sights of the city. If it’s too warm, why not take a dip in our pool in the courtyard — the perfect way to cool off!

Each of our 6 rooms is furnished differently and has its own bathroom. Free high-speed WiFi is available in all rooms and throughout the riad.

In the evening, our night manager will ensure your safety in the Riad Selouane, in addition to the neighborhood security guard.

Discoveries

Within a radius of just two to five minutes’ walk, you will find a large number of restaurants and bars as well as a variety of sights such as museums, historic gardens and palaces.

The selection of wellness offers ranges from historic hammams to modern spa facilities. A visit to the hammam is always a great way to end a day in the souks of Marrakesh, followed by dinner in one of the many restaurants in the medina.

If you are drawn to the hip clubs in the new town, the cab rank at Dar el Bacha is not far away.
